Emeralds are often accompanied by pearls and one such pearl is Ireland’s East Clare region. With the 224 miles long River Shannon to its right and the majestic western Atlantic coast to its left, East Clare is a haven of unspoilt peace and tranquility for those who love solitude.

East Clare is a place of secrets too. A rich tapestry of folklore, heritage and historic monuments are everywhere.  After one visit you will want to return again and again to re-live the unique experience that is East Clare.

A wild, wonderful, rugged beauty.

County Clare is situated in the West of Ireland and is renowned and known the world over for its legacy in Traditional Irish Music – Internationally acclaimed fiddler, Martin Hayes, was born & reared in East Clare – and is home to an abundance of visual riches and spectacular scenery.

East Clare is one of the hidden treasures of Clare & Ireland where visitors still find the peace and tranquility for which the Emerald Isle is famous. Rugged, rolling hills and picturesque valleys intertwined with rivers, lakes, woodland and boglands offer a serene but never boring scenery.

We are surrounded by the magnificent Slieve Bearnagh (incl Moylussa – Highest Peak in Co Clare) and Slieve Aughty Mountains on one side and the majestic River Shannon/Lough Derg on the other.

The region has a rich heritage of walking routes, historic sites, folklore, music, song and dance with regular events and festivals throughout the year and advice is freely available on all activities for visitors in the East Clare area.

There’s no better place in Ireland to experience Irish Music and culture at it’s very best and no better way to experience the charm and friendliness of the local people at first hand. You’ll get a great welcome wherever you go.!!!
